Toyota Motor Corporation is a multinational corporation headquartered in Japan. Toyota Motor Corporation is the world's largest automaker. In 1934, Toyota created its first product, Type A engine and in 1936 its first passenger car the Toyota AA. Toyota was founded by Kiichiro Toyoda in 1937 as a separate automobile producing unit. Lexus and Scion, Daihatsu and Hino Motors are also part of the Toyota brand. The headquarters is in Toyota City and Nagoya (both in Aichi), and in Tokyo.
In 1980, Toyota Motor Company was awarded its first Japanese Quality Control Award and actively participates in a wide variety of Motorsports. The oil crisis of 1973 served as the right opportunity for Toyota to enter the North American market and also in other parts of the World. Toyota was famous for their small fuel-efficient economic cars that were used worldwide. In 1984, Toyota entered into a joint venture with GM called NUMMI, the New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc, operating an automobile manufacturing plant in Fremont, California.
