Hyundai is South Korea's largest conglomerate company and is a successful and famous automobile company. The Hyundai group was initially founded by Chung-Ju-yung in 1947. The automobile part is also called the Hyundai motor company and is the fifth largest automaker in the World and is one of the Big Asian four. The Hyundai Motor Company was founded in 1967 and the vehicles are sold in different parts of the World. The headquarters is located in Seoul, South Korea.
The name, 'Hyundai' means 'modernity' in Korean and the logo used to represent Hyundai is a slanted stylized 'H'. The logo is considered to symbolise two people, one is Hyundai and the second is the Customer shaking hands. Hyundai vehicles are used widely and have won many awards and prizes. In 1986, Hyundai began to sell cars in the United States, and the Excel was nominated as "Best Product #10" by Fortune magazine, largely because of its affordability. The Hyundai Excel was the first model that was introduced in the United States in 1986.
