Nissan is the name of one of the most successful Japanese Motor company. Nissan was initially called as the Nissan Jidosha and the name was shortened later to Nissan. The Nissan Motor Company was initially introduced in 1932 and the Company's main office is located in the Ginza area of Chuo, Tokyo. Nissan is ranked among the top three automobile companies in Asia and is the third largest Japanese car manufacturer in the United States. The name, 'Nissan' is pronounced differently in different parts. Nissan was initially called as Datsun and this name was used from early 1914.
The Infiniti luxury brand, that was a very successful model was manufactured and marketed by Nissan. The name, Nissan was initially used on the Tokyo stock Market as an abbreviation for Nippon Sangyo and was initially used in 1930. In 1934, the Nissan motor company was separately introduced and was owned by Nippon Sangyo and Hitachi. Nissan built trucks, airplanes, and engines for the Japanese military and the company's main plants were moved to China after parts in China were captured by Japan. In 1947 and 1948 the Nissan Motor Company also used the name as Nissan Heavy Industries Corporation.
